Subsequently, she graduated from Yeshiva University, New York with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Dr. Smith is currently a National Certified Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Family Therapist and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a full time faculty member in the Department of Counseling and Development at Long Island University, on the C.W. Post campus. She is the 2005 recipient of the David Newton Award for Teacher of Excellence. She has years of experience as a clinician and teacher. Dr. Smith is published in many professional counseling journals. She co-authored the book Why Good Relationships Turn Bad: What To Do About It. June Smith is married to Dr. Alanzo Smith, Director of Family and Communication Ministries at the Seventh-day Adventist Greater New York Conference. Their daughter, Lyn is a Nursing Practitioner/Educator at Winthrop University Hospital, New York.
